Engagement in making and exhibiting are key components of my creative practice. As a result of this I have work held in collections at the Powerhouse Museum, Sydney and the Museum of Art Craft, Itami, Japan and was commission fabrics for the blinds in the Australian Consular Residence, Kobe, Japan and have had my work represented in Art Textiles of the World, ed. Matthew Koumis, 64-71. Brighton, England: Telos Art Publishing.
An important part of my practice is working as a curator/exhibition maker and I completed a PhD in curatorial practice; “Between fashion and art: the role of curatorial practice and exhibition in the re-positioning of fashion” in 2014.
I bring a wealth of knowledge and experience gained through more than 45 years’ work in the creative industries as a practitioner, exhibition curator, community development officer and various fields of education including 22 years lecturing in the fashion and design programs at Curtin University. My practice also draws on a career including international engagement, academic leadership, the development interdisciplinary collegial relationships, global collaboration and project management.
